The Courage of One

She seemed all right to everyone else
who would’ve guessed she was broken inside?
She didn’t have many friends
and the ones she did were only fair weather friends.
They used her to get high grades on assignments
she was their "easy A".
They called her down, criticized her clothes, hair and voice
all the jokes were pushing her one step closer to the edge.
One brave girl spoke up above the rest
"Stop! We’re all the same in some sort of way. But we’re also all unique."
The jokes stopped within hours, some even minutes
A life was saved because of one brave person.
If only we could all have a Brave Girl in our lives.
